Running a successful business is something that many attempts but not all succeed at. This is why the NFS Group is taking a moment to celebrate being in business for four decades.

“When one thinks of a decade in business, there are many small but significant details that can easily be overlooked.  In those ten years, many decisions and sacrifices have to be made, the team grows and shrinks, and there are moments of elation that come from wins and achievements as well as moments of devastation, fear and doubt,” says NFS Group founders, Vijay and Madhu Patel.

Launched in Durban in 1982, the business has grown into a group of companies that have served clients with passion and dedication.  Forty years on, the group has a national presence, something that seemed like a dream when the Patels decided to start their business.

Madhu and Vijay decided together that they will build their own company and grow it until their children take over. Thus, the name Nirvesh was founded being the names of both their children Nirishi and Bhavesh combined. “For many years it felt like it would be a false hope. However, it was a dream come true when both simultaneously decided to join the business and created the NFS Group with multi-faceted offerings of various services.” said the co-founders.

The NFS Group has undergone numerous changes over the last four decades, including the accolade of continuing to be successful enough to have the business become multi-generational.

“Having grown up in the humble office in Randles Road, Sydenham it is indeed a privilege to continue the NFS legacy.  Who knew that so many years later, we would lead what our parents created, onward and upward!” says CEO and CIO, Nirishi Trikamjee and Bhavesh Patel.

The group starts the celebration journey of this milestone year with the launch of the NFS  Foundation. “In the spirit of the group’s value of being a caregiver, the NFS Foundation’s vision is to help historically disadvantaged youth in South Africa by fostering an environment that encourages growth and development as well as empower existing small, medium and micro enterprises,” says CEO Nirishi Trikamjee.

Giving back and being of service has been a business value since the launch of the business and that legacy will continue with the launch of the NFS foundation.

The year of celebration will continue with other announcements that will be upcoming during the course of 2022. “We look forward to celebrating this amazing milestone with our clients, old and new. This time also allows us to share the trajectory of the future of the business which is something we are all very excited about,” adds Trikamjee.
