Ubuntu Olive Oil is an award-winning olive oil  founded by entrepreneur Loyiso Manga.

Loyiso describes how his fascination with extra-virgin olive oil’s health advantages inspired him to create the local business.

“The extra-virgin olive oil’s health benefits and the market’s lack of black competitors served as my inspiration.” Above all, we aimed to serve as an inspiration to numerous other youthful, aspirational people, encouraging them to pursue their passions and support their aspirations. We aimed to demonstrate the viability of the Ubuntu spirit among South Africans.

Ubuntu Olive Oil, which is produced in the Western Cape, further embodies the idea of “togetherness” by giving jobs to members of the nearby farming communities. “All elements are sourced locally, from primary to tertiary production,” continues Loyiso.

Thanks to Mardouw Olive Estate, Ubuntu Olive Oil recently took home gold in both the London and World Olive Oil Competitions for their superior product. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the only product that has been produced thus far, but three more infused olive oils—garlic, biltong, and lemon—are in the works as the company looks for more investors to help bring this line to market.
“As the first of its kind in South Africa, our biltong-infused olive oil is something to drool over.” Additionally, we acquire our balsamic vinegar from Spain; Loyiso says, “It will transform your life as you know it.”

The goal of Ubuntu Olive Oil is to become the nation’s first black-owned commercial olive oil farm by buying an olive oil-producing farm. Additionally, we are preparing to ship eight containers of our olive oil to West Africa for the first time. It’s interesting to note that the olive oil being provided in Ghana, Nigeria, and the Ivory Coast is intended for anointing, not for consumption. Thus, we are thrilled that the deal will shortly come to pass,” add Loyiso.
