The Black Coffee Foundation delivered another unforgettable cultural moment on Saturday, 29 November 2025, with a sold-out Benefit Concert at Melrose Arch, proving once again that Africa Is Not A Jungle – it is a global force of music, creativity, and unity. The magnetic showcase brought together thousands of supporters for a night where world-class performance met meaningful purpose.
The Benefit Concert – hosted in partnership with Smirnoff ICE and Don Julio Tequila, and in association with Gauteng Tourism, Nando’s, Nivea and BMW Bryantson – was a vibrant collision of African sound, star power, and community upliftment. R20 from every ticket was donated directly to the Black Coffee Foundation as fans were not only treated to a spectacular musical experience but also contributed to the Foundation’s year-end campaigns and long-term development programmes.
The event also featured a dynamic Grade Africa pop-up, giving fans access to exclusive fashion from one of the continent’s most exciting creative houses – further reinforcing the spirit of African talent, artistry, and innovation.
Curated under the iconic Africa Is Not A Jungle stage, the lineup showcased a powerful cross-section of African sounds and sonic innovators. The night featured a headline performance by global icon Black Coffee, delivering a trademark blend of deep house mastery and storytelling through music.
A dynamic ensemble of continent-shaping artists made up the lineup up and fans got to experience Uncle Waffles, Kabza De Small, Major League DJz, Tirhani, Breetz, Karyendasoul, DJ Lag, Asvnte, and DJ Merlon. Together, they delivered a blistering sequence of performances that transformed Melrose Arch into a celebration of African excellence – rhythm, culture, dance, and a unified sense of purpose.
“A sold-out show like this is more than entertainment – it is a reminder of the power, unity, and brilliance of African creativity,” says Lungie Mapumulo, CEO of the Black Coffee Foundation. “Every artist who took the stage, every person who attended, and every partner who supported us contributed to something far greater. The Benefit Concert shows that when we come together, we can create joy while also creating change. The Foundation is deeply grateful for everyone who helped make this extraordinary.”
From the music to the pop-ups, the fashion, the community, and the electric crowd, the Benefit Concert reflected the very heart of the Foundation’s mission: to uplift, empower and celebrate African talent at every level.
The sold-out response in Johannesburg follows months of momentum for the Black Coffee Foundation, including the Music Conference & Exhibition and the Charity Gala Dinner hosted the day before – forming a powerful weekend dedicated to education, access, and community upliftment; curated and executed by P.O.C Africa.
Following the Johannesburg show, the Foundation now looks forward to expanding its impact globally as it hosts the Black Coffee Benefit Party in Miami on 4 December 2025 – an intimate cocktail evening uniting global supporters for a greater cause and sustaining the Foundation’s international footprint.
