In 2003, 4 Stellies ladies decided to create a showcase for the many creative artisans they each knew. A place where small  producers and start-up artisans could show (and sell!) their stuff – in an affordable, accessible and ethical way.

With no budget to hire a fancy venue, they simply lugged all the furniture out of one of their homes, squeezed in 36 Makers,  printed some flyers (no Social Media in those days!) and said their prayers…

800 shoppers – and some sold-out Makers later – they declared their ‘Kamersvol Geskenke’ (it was a pre-Xmas show) to be  a success. And they did it again the following year… and the next….

Fast forward to 2023 and KAMERS MAKERS, as it’s now known, has grown into African largest and most premium showcase  for artisan entrepreneurs…

St David’s Marist College has hosted a number of wonderful KM shows in recent years. And we’re back there in the last week  of April with our 20 Year Bumper Show. We’ll be on the main cricket fields, as per our recent December show and it  promises to be a blast!

introducing more than 30 brand new, never-seen-in-Jozi Makers

almost 160 Makers in total

a fab new food offering – taking ‘event food’ to the next level

Best of all.. everything is proudly local and – with TWO public holidays during the show – it’s the best day out in Jozi!

Our Plastic Ain’t Fantastic drive is ongoing – and after 4 years of amazing support from Consol Glass, who are now boldly moving  forward as Ardagh Glass Packaging, we’re confident of hitting an extraordinary 450,000 plastic bottles removed from circulation  at this Sandton show… Shoppers will still be getting their FREE KM Shopper Bag with glass water bottle inside – bottles will  now carry the new AGP branding, with the Irish-based global company having purchased Consol last year, making our proudly SA  glass producer now a part of the 3rd largest glass company in the world.

Join us in on the splendid fields of St Davids’ Marist to mark a truly extraordinary two decades of SA Maker excellence!
