Limpopo showcases the best in tourism, setting the scene for festive season

In recognition of the tourism sector in the province of Limpopo, the past weekend saw a mix of tourism products and services under one roof during the Limpopo Holiday Fair, hosted by the Polokwane Tourism Association, in partnership with the Polokwane Local Municipality, Capricorn District Municipality, Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism and Limpopo Tourism Agency.
With so much on offer in tourism, the fair brought together products and services ranging from accommodation, beauty spa, safari services to adventure tourism products the province has to offer. The three day fair, hosted under the tourism theme “Tourism and Peace – Celebrating 30 years of connecting people to places and culture”, was held at Savannah Mall in Polokwane.
The Limpopo Holiday Fair, on its 8th instalment – is a brain child of the Polokwane Tourism Association, with its primary goal to promote the province as the holiday destination to the ordinary man on the street, boosting adventure, culture and heritage.
“We need to convey to people that Shot’ Left break doesn’t have to be to other province as Limpopo has everything but the beach right here on our door step. That is why we chose Savannah Mall as the venue; to reach out to the public as well as tourism professionals”, said Gerhard Franken, Chairperson of the Polokwane Tourism Association.
The 2024 instalment of the fair featured an Adventure Hub, where visitors experienced a taste of amazing adventure tourism products that Limpopo is famous for, where visitors can book for quad biking and enjoy safari game drives at a very reasonable fee.

Through the fair, the Speed Marketing session brought together exhibitors and buyers to network, discover and seal deals that will promote the province and get visitors coming to explore the scenic beauty that Limpopo offers.
Hosted buyers came from other provinces of the country, including Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga and other provinces, as well as beyond the borders and attracted buyers coming form Botswana.
Limpopo Women in Tourism Chairperson, Lerato Sekgobela made a significant emphasis on celebrating and promoting the breath-taking landscapes, rich cultural heritage and vibrant communities of Limpopo.
“Limpopo’s diverse culture, from traditional arts to contemporary expressions adds incredible depth and character to out tourism offerings. The fair on its own, strives to boost tourism recovery and growth, empowering local businesses by connecting them with national and international buyers”, said Sekgobela.
The Limpopo Holiday Fair brought together over 30 hosed buyers and connected tourism products and services from over 100 exhibitors, showcasing what Limpopo has to offer for people visiting the province this festive season.
