The Makhelwane Festival returns this December—bigger, bolder, and more deeply rooted in community than ever before. The beloved Soweto lifestyle and community showcase once again invites locals and visitors to experience the very best of township living through food, fashion, art, music, and entrepreneurship.

From 12 to 14 December 2025, the festival comes alive across Soweto, with key events on Poka Street in Orlando West and at the iconic Thesis Concept Store.

Over the two main festival days, attendees can look forward to MÖRDA, Monique Bingham, Sjava, Njelic, Russell Zuma, WAV Gardn, Thandonje, Saul Madiope, and more. DJ sets from Musical Maestro, Nicky B, Ke Dineo, Kitchen Mess, Buhle Mbongwa, DJ Jawz, Billion, Tee Illa and Lochive.
