Fresh off an unforgettable Paris Fashion Week and a defining appearance at the Business of Fashion (BoF) 500 Gala, South African style icon Sarah Langa continues to solidify her standing as one of fashion’s most influential voices. With a Hummingbird Fashion Award nomination now under her belt and upcoming speaking engagements across South Africa, Sarah’s evolution from fashion muse to cultural authority is in full stride.
Paris Fashion Week 2025 marked another exciting chapter for Sarah. Attending alongside Nigerian designer Yinka Ash, founder of Ashluxe, she turned heads in a custom one-of-one open-back Ashluxe gown designed exclusively for her. The look – bold, refined, and unapologetically expressive – embodied Sarah’s approach to fashion as both art and identity.
“It’s not just attendance – I’ve come to take over Paris this week,” Sarah said, reflecting on her whirlwind schedule of shows, including Casablanca and Rick Owens, where she was dressed by the respective brands.
Her appearance at the BoF 500 Gala, widely regarded as the “Olympics of fashion,” placed her among global luminaries – designers, editors, and entrepreneurs shaping the future of the industry. More than a guest, Sarah represented African excellence and creative vision on one of fashion’s most exclusive stages. Alongside her Paris imprint, Sarah’s influence has been officially recognised with a nomination for Fashion Influencer of the Year at the 2025 Hummingbird Fashion Awards, taking place on 9 December 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The nomination determined by a globally representative jury of over 3,000 fashion authorities places Sarah in the same category as international icons like Aimee Song and Victoria Beckham. The awards celebrate creativity, innovation, and impact in fashion, with proceeds benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
This recognition marks a pivotal moment for Sarah, whose work continues to blur boundaries between fashion, education, and lifestyle storytelling. Her nomination affirms not only her creative influence but also her growing role as a voice for purpose-driven style. Extending her influence beyond the runway, Sarah will headline two upcoming speaking engagements under the theme “How You Show Up Matters – Building Your Brand Through Style.”
